Diagnostic Modes -
1. DC Voltage Mode: Displays polarity and voltage.
2. AC Voltage Mode: Displays maximum and minimum voltage, frequency, provides a graphic display of the frequency.
3. Resistance Mode: Displays the resistance of the circuit between the probe tip and the auxiliary ground lead - identifies faulty relays, fuses, motors and more.
4. Diode Mode: Displays the polarity of a positive-negative junction diode.
• SAFE IN USE - Safe to use on computers and airbag systems for checking voltage and resistance.
*Note: Supplying voltage to computers and airbag systems can cause damage to the system.
Applications:
• VOLTAGE & POLARITY TESTING: In DC Voltage Mode, the display will show the voltage and illuminate red for positive, green for negative. Open circuits will not register voltage or indicate polarity.
• CONTINUITY TESTING: In Resistance Mode, a good ground will indicate "0000Ω" and a beep will sound.
• SIGNAL CIRCUIT TESTING: In AC Voltage Mode, if the observed frequency or voltage does not match the specification, there is likely a problem with that sensor.
• ACTIVATING COMPONENTS: With the auxiliary ground connected, press the rocker switch forward to activate the component to help isolate faulty switches, relays, motors and more.
